Welcome to the Annie Sloan Page

Annie Sloan is first and foremost an artist. She’s also the author of over 26 books on interiors, a colour expert.

She invented her revolutionary furniture paint, Chalk Paint™, in 1990 and hasn’t stopped refining and improving her formula since.

She is widely considered one of the world’s leading authorities in paint, colour and style.

The invention of Chalk Paint™ resulted from Annie’s need for a paint that could be used to achieve endless decorative effects – and quickly.  Chalk Paint™ satisfies that brief perfectly, as it can be applied to wood, glass, metal, brick and even laminate, left to dry, and then waxed within one day.  This helped to accommodate for Annie’s busy lifestyle as a working mother to three boys.

Chalk Paint has many uses, but the most admired use is renovating and "refreshing" old and new things.

Chalk Paint is an easy to use, quick to dry, decorative furniture paint with a luxurious matt finish which revolutionised the world of DIY and upcycling on its release in 1990.

Interesting!

" upcycle " (verb): reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.

There really is no limit to what can be achieved with chalk paint

The Flower Shoppe is one of those dedicated stockists for Annie Sloan Products.

Stephanie Noblet-Waithe, the artist owner of The Flower Shoppe, loves to work with chalk paint.

Her staff are trained and mentored by both Annie Sloan herself and her team of experts.

The Flower Shoppe provides all the hands-on guidance, training, information, and workshops, helping you explore the wide range of uses for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™.

Stephanie says . . .

"Creativity to me is the most important thing. It is like writing a story. You have something to say, something you feel strongly and has to be expressed.  A few years ago, I started painting on wood panel which allowed me to use a new medium such as acrylic and chalk paint. Chalk paint is mainly used to paint furniture, but can be used actually with everything, if you feel creative.  I like the variety and intensity of its colours and transparency as well. As a water-based paint you can add water and I am using it as if it was my watercolour palette"
